Good Afternoon Families! What a great first full week of school.  Students are becoming familiar with school and classroom routines!  Ask your child about their exciting week at school and find highlights below:

"In the gym we played alien tag and fruit salad." CL

"We played rainbow tag and toilet tag in Phys. Ed this week.  To make a rainbow you have to curl your body!" AVM

"We coloured pictures and words about friendship and what makes a good friend.  We play with friends even though sometimes they are different than you!" AM

"A good friend helps to clean up even if they weren't playing at that centre.  Good friends play and help each other." CM

"In music we learned how to play the xylophone.  We learned how to rest the bars." EM

"When we were playing the xylophones I was the conductor.  I was telling everybody when to play and how to play!" LP

"In math we have been making and building patterns.  The core of a pattern is the part that repeats." GM

"We had to finish the shape pattern in math this week." LE

"We did a letter hunt with different colours.  We had to colour them purple, yellow, blue, orange and green." HC

"In our journals we wrote about things we love.  I love traveling." JNS

"We wrote in our journals about what we like.  I like burgers and Star Wars." AC

"We do quiet reading because it is fun to do and we get to read by ourselves.  It is really nice to read by yourself." AC

"I like reading in the story corner.  I read with Jacob today during buddy reading and we did a picture walk." PD

"We learned about what a good friend is.  We share with friends, care about friends, and we stand up for our friends. We did this in our Visual Journals." TW
