Good afternoon families,

We have had a busy 4 days together. Here are some of our highlights this week;

-"Today in Finding Fairies we made our terrariums. I made an Ocean theme terrarium. I put some shells and then I put some shiny rocks on them". Ciara

-"For T.W.A.S. first we listened to The Napping House. Then we had to answer how many feet our in our house. I noticed I have 12 feet in my house. I started at 4 for my dog and then counted by 2's". Cooper

-"In Siabbld U we played games which we always do. I got to a new level". Evan

"In gym we played curling. It was not on the ice, it was on the floor. You got to use the rocks and slide them on the floor to get to the target, the girls team won!". Hannah

-In math Mrs. Allard wrote something I down about marshmallows. We had 20 marshmallows and we had to share them with 2 friends. I did 19+1=20". McKenzie

-"In Math we had to count how legs do pigs have in our visual journals. I used pictures to answer. I solved if I had 2 pigs there would be 8 legs". Lucas

-"In gym we played curling. We had 4 on our team and my team was Cale, Georgia, Marcus and me, it the funnest time I have ever had!". Jacob NS

-"In music this week, we played a game called Lucy Locket Lost Her Pocket. I liked it, and I did not get to be it, but I got to sign a song". Trent

-"Outside we played soccer in the snow. Bentley's team won, we have lots and fun and we play it every time we go outside". Kalen

-Fun lunch and Spirit Day Feb 28th.
-PD Day March 1st.
-Gymnastics starts March 4th. Please do not wear loose clothing, make sure long hair is tied back. Dress for the activities.

Good Afternoon Families!

It was a short, but great week in grade one! Please read below for highlights from the last three days!

"In gym we are skipping and we tried to skip backwards and we tried to do it ten times.  I was helping friends that couldn't do it and then they could do it." Alicia

"Today was Valentine's Day and we handed out Valentine cards.  You had to grab your Valentines cards and put them in the bags with their names on it." Reid

"Yesterday we made Valentines bags and we could make them a kitty, a doggy, or a unicorn.  We used paper, glue, scissors, and a paper bag.  I made a kitty that was pink.'' Aiden VM

"Today we wrote about Valentine's Day and I wrote I love Valentine's Day because I love giving cards." Kalen

"In journals we were writing about Valentine's Day and what it means to us.  I like to spend time with my family and I go out and I eat dinner with my Mom and brother." Jake

"In Stop and Jot we learned about walruses.  They have tusks that help pull them out of the water and on the ice." Evan

"In Stop and Jot Kate brought in an ice movie and we were learning about polar bears and other Arctic animals." Lucas

"In Math we were talking about if you have two numbers and you flip them they equal the same." Ciara

"In journals yesterday we wrote what we would look like when we were 100 years old.  I would have a walking stick, grey hair, and a huge beard." Kyle

"When we talked about walruses we wrote in our Stop and Jot journals.  We learned that they have blubber." Bentley M

"In math we drew ten pictures of ten.  After we did that we flipped our visual journals over and tried to make 100." Cooper

Good afternoon Grade 1 families,

What a cold week we have had. We managed to keep ourselves busy with indoor recess all week long. Let's hope for warmer weather ahead in our future :)

Here are some highlights of our week together:

-"In finding fairies we made fairies out of popsicles sticks and paper". Ciara

-In gym we did skipping. We used skipping ropes and before did the skipping we got to play a tag game". Hannah

-In Sibbald U we made Shrinky Dinks we had tracers, but we had to find the first letter of our name. Then we had to trace it. We got to do our own shape and next time we will get them back". Mckenzie

-"In Music we practiced a song with hens and roosters. We tried to predict what happened in it, at the end we got to see what happened. I was wrong". Cooper

-"On the 7th we had Fun Lunch. I got mac and cheese. It was so good". Evan

-For T.W.A.S. we made a Arctic Walrus. We made it out of paper and glue and also had to make the flippers too". Aidan C

-"This whole week had BLUE DAYS. Some of the things we did was staying inside for FAB and lunch. I liked it". Reid

-"Mrs. Perry did a directed drawing in our Visual Journals in was a picture of a Polar Bear. We also got to see a video too". Lucas

-In T.W.A.S. we made a heart for Valentine's Day. We made it out of paper, and use other shapes for our background". Marcus

-"In math we learned how to that if we add 0 the number the stays the SAME when we do addition". Kate

Important reminders:

-Valentines day will be celebrated on Wed Feb 13th.

-No school Feb 14th and Feb 15th (Teachers Convention).

-Family day Feb 18th.
